What is 316 2B stainless steel?
Alro stocks 316-2B stainless steel is an austenitic chrome nickel
steel with superior corrosion resistance to that of other chrome
nickel steels. Widely used when exposed to chemical corrodents, as
well as marine atmospheres. 316-2B is a bright cold rolled mill
finish.
What's the difference between 316 and 316L?
316L stainless steel is almost identical to 316. The only
difference is the carbon content. 316L's lower carbon content
imparts even better corrosion resistance than 316. 316L does not
require post-weld annealing.
What is a mill finish for stainless steel?
A bright, cold-rolled finish is the most commonly "Mill" finish for
light gauge stainless steel sheet. It resembles a very hazy mirror,
with some reflection evident. It is obtained by a final light roll
pass of the sheet through polished rolls.
